My Mourning

by H E Losey   Jul 17, 2008

Your face flashes before me
And I awake without you
This same old way
I start each day a new
As light in the East
Predicts each dawning
Why must I wake each day
To face this mourning

All day I reminisce of the love
That I have lost
And conjure plans for it's renewal
Sacrificing any cost
And yet with every new tomorrow
Comes the same old longing
Why must I wake each day
To face this mourning

The evening's memories reflecting
Times shared in our past
Those hardest on my heart it seems
Are the longest that last
Each night my dreams are memories
In each to you I'm calling
Why must I wake each day
To face this mourning

^Loved that part. It clearly states your emotions and feelings, and the words you used were so perfect!

Great work, loved each bit of this poem, keep it up.

I reallllly enjoyed that line. It stood out a lot to me.

I liked the repetition you did at the end of each stanza and the title fit nicely.

Everything flowed well and the storyline was consistant. Well done. Five out of five.
