Truth

by Sherika   Jul 18, 2008

You said that you were attracted to me, because I was

real.

You said that you were tired of being lied to.

Isn't me not saying how I truly feel about you,

the same as lying?

Because the one who holds what is truth is the

one who controls the situation and sets the tone.

How can you turn away when I speak what is true?

My truth, what is real to me, by you cannot be

tolerated.

My truth, with your spin can be accepted even though I

hate it.

So if the only way you can accept my truth

is to spin it, silence some of it, or all it,

because you don't want to, are not ready to, can't deal

with or stand to hear it...

Then how can you ask me to keep it real if

truth is the main ingredient of realness?

I didn't know that low fat truth existed.

The thing about truth, is that it does not

need a response, only to be heard.

It does not require a reaction, just acceptance.

Does my truth scare you?

Does my realness offend you?

We all ask for truth and realness but maybe they are

too potent for us to take, like uncut drugs.

Maybe it is not the rush of truth and realness that

get us high, but the additives mixed in with

it that make it tolerable for us to ingest.

I promised you truth, no matter what it cost,

I apologize if you could not afford to hear it.
