Treasured

by nora gallagher   Jul 19, 2008

Bitter tears
they pour, they pour

I think of him
what for, what for?

Loving lips
they kiss, they kiss

The touch of them
I miss, I miss

Dreams they seem
to know, to know

Just where I want
to go, to go

Legs they move
like toys, like toys

Let them twirl
with boys, with boys

How can I
be sure, be sure?

That you were
no more, no more

Than tears and dreams and lips and twirls
with lots of different, different girls.

It's very rare that I find a poet that I really favor... and you are now one of them.
I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.
