Mending

by Paralyzed   Jul 19, 2008

I thought to leave this cold, cruel world,
To never bat an eye,
But something underneath my pain,
Just won't let me die.

This passion that I hold inside,
Knows I'll be okay,
So I hold on, grit my teeth,
Waiting for that day.

A smile has graced these lips before,
Love has filled my heart,
Long before I came to see,
What we had, ripped apart.

This hurt has taken over me,
Must work to let it go,
To get back to the things I love,
The life that I did know.

Time will mend what now lays broken,
Bleeding on the floor,
The sun will shine and I won't cry,
Or think of you once more.
