Electra's daughter (String senryu)

by Goodbye   Jul 21, 2008

Nothing beautiful
publicly disgraced is she:
Electra's daughter

Shaggy hair on face
dead eyes of love staring at
emptiness behind

No stars in her sky
drowned in lost reality
nothing will console

The game has been played
they won and she lost it all
-fair enough to be?

Something inside her
tells she has deserved all this
shame on her cheek burns

She is no lady
the daughter of Electra
ancient myth of Greece

This is a very well written poem. But I just got the feeling it ends in little hurry. I feel one more stanza would have been make it complete.
But overall the poem is fantastic.

    Noor,

this is so intriguing. A character, fact or fiction, it makes no difference. Electra's beauty means nothing to her in light of her public discrace, but what is worse is the self loathing she feels for herself.

I loved the imagery you portrayed in this write.

    Well done
