A Place To Rest

he saw you so tired from hanging on
to the life that was overwhelming you
so he took away what you had
and all that you ever knew
and said my son, it's time to go,
it's time to leave your family behind.

he said that you would be at peace
and that you would fine

he said there's nothing to worry about
you're safe now and hurting no more.
he said that you'd be our guardian angel
and guide us through our doors.

so as he took away the air you breathed
and the strength to be with us
he said that you're better off in heaven
with a final place to rest.
