Look in her eyes

by Amanda Jo   Jul 22, 2008

By the look in her eyes,
The sadness drifted in.
The gray had taken over,
Her expression growing dim.

Her arms and neck,
Though hidden well.
Bare the dark bruises,
But she knows not to tell.

She laughs and smiles,
Pulling her mind away.
Not wanting to face the fact,
That she must go home another day.

Each night she prays,
Her question goes deep.
She longs for a new life,
As she cries herself to sleep.

Yet when she woke,
To her knees she fell.
Because she must start another day,
In the life... her living hell.
