Paint it Black

by Taylor   Jul 23, 2008

Stupid black car
With the stupid boy inside
I'd drive 1000 miles
Just to cross paths
& I'll wave again
While you drive by
Turn the music louder
But it won't drown out regret
That seat once belonged to me
When we would drive around
But dark, tinted windows
Make memories hard to see
So, I'll stare outside
As I ride around alone
I'll take tonight's starry sky
& let my mind paint it black
Then maybe I'll feel closer to that
Stupid black car
With the stupid boy inside

I had to look at this one because it is one of my favorite titles lol I like what you did with it, though I am not sure I like the repeat of the word stupid in the opening and last lines, I might change one of them. All in all though I like the feeling behind this poem, I think we have all found ourselves in this kind of moment at some point in time. Nice work
