Great Grandma

Christmas Day I spent beside your hospital bed
While thoughts and fears flowed through my head
The time you had left, I did not know
I wanted you to stay longer, bit it was your time to go

I didn't want to believe it was the end, so I never said goodbye
There's so much I could have said, but I didn't have the courage to try
So as I drift asleep, I'll dream of you tonight
And know that somewhere up there you're having the time of your life
