Bloom

by Kyleene   Aug 1, 2008

The blue sky has faded to a deep grey
As the future of our relationship takes a turn for the worst
You have everything you want in your life now,
Without my presence in your way and pulling you down
It was a slap in the face
How quick you were to betray me
It has become clear that you have no respect for what we have allowed to blossom between us
My heart is alread patched and loosely strung together
But as you continue to choose them over you and me,
Those threads begin to fray and snap
Though as quickly as I was pushed away,
I was ready for the heartache and ripping to take place
You won't change
I have given up hope on that
But the rain that is shed from black and angry clouds
Allows beautifully touch roses to spring in its wake,
And stronger than ever
It isn't always easy to move on and forget
But when I saw this coming,
I quickly prepared to deflect the pain
My rose will grow back with time
There may be more thorns and holes,
Less petals and trust
But I will live again one day
You have crushed my heart into dust
So I am leaving,
Walking forward without a glance behind me
True, these immortal wounds will scar me forever
But the pain will fade and become slight
I will bloom
