Gay

by Kyleene   Aug 1, 2008

Tears fall from her swollen eyes
As her world slowly caves in
Her life is being torn apart
By the pain that is twisting her soul
She burns to be accepted
To be seen as the person she is
But all that others take in
Is a distorted version of the truth
She stares blindly at her reflection
Wishing to tell the world who she has figured out her inner self is
And wanting to scream at the ones that will look at her with disgust
It wasn't a choice she decided to make
In fact,
She tried to deny her true feelings for years
But finally her heart and mind gave up fighting each other
And now a different battle is to begin
The prejudice thoughts coming from many who are soon to find out,
Will surly begin to wear and break her down
But now that she is honest with herself,
She has to let it out for others to see it as well
Being gay is nothing she wanted to be
So many problems come along with that label
And by opening herself up to the facts of her heart,
She puts herself in danger
But by pretending to love something she does not,
She deceives others as well as herself
It is time for her to come out with the truth
To love herself and try to find support from them
She burns to be accepted
To be seen as the person she is
And this time,
Her true and gay self will no longer be a false and distorted image
