Five Words

by Kait   Aug 1, 2008

You're worth more than this.
A phrase I never seem to miss.

Everyone repeats it.
And, it still hurts with every hit.

I try to block the words out.
But, they come back without a doubt.

Why won't people stop?
Just let the subject drop.

Don't you see my regret?
And, all the things I can't forget?

I know I'm worth more.
But, I see nothing worth living for.

I'm not going to let go.
The better in me, I just will not show.

I'll live my life from day to day.
And with me, the pain will stay.

No one can tell anything is wrong.
With a fake smile, I've hidden my secrets all along.

Don't try to make me let you in.
That argument, you will never win.

So, let me go a little longer.
While the struggle I mask makes me stronger.

One day I will let this all out.
Everyone will then know what it was all about.

Why I lied and why I cried.
Why I thought I had to hide.

The truth will be told.
My lies, I can no longer hold.

First off I loooove the first two stanzas. Hit took hit and miss and made it hit and not miss. XD

I try to block the words out.
But, they come back without a doubt.

    Love. <3<3<3

    The truth will be told.
My lies, I can no longer hold.

    Powerful.

I think this would be under sad rather than dark, but it's your choice.

I really enjoyed this piece. It oozed emotion and pain.

    Five out of five.
