True Love

by H E Losey   Aug 1, 2008

How many times can one man love?
As many times as stars above.
When born the boy loves his mother
Will through his life there be another?
Mother's son grows strong and tall
With teens he hears the young girl's call
With each new girl its love "4 ever"
True love it seems but lasting, never.
From man-child quickly to maturity
Still his heart knows no security
For older women play their own game
The only rule to gain his name
When the game has played its course
Love once shared ends in divorce
And so he asks 'Will there be another?"
Each man has only one love...his mother.

Right from the first two lines I thought this piece would be great. I mean, everyone uses stars above and love because it works, but you not only made it work but you made it a little different. Most people say something cliche liiiike....What I would give to you my love would be all the stars above. Or something like that. But you made it unique. :D

With each new girl its love "4 ever"
True love it seems but lasting, never.

I loved what I pictured when I read this. I pictured something on the front of a note book carved in deeply with blue pen 4 ever and you're right, everyone says it and it never happens.

This was a very...beautiful poem. Beautiful is the only word I can think of right now to describe it.

    Flawless.

Five out of five as usual.
