On the Banks of Karnee River

by NightFlyer   Aug 3, 2008

From points of rock on the river's edge
I see the swirling waters of Spring
Fed from sun baked mountains
And the lavender meadows of Spring's ascent.

The sunny Summer gods of green rivers
Replacing the gods of the dying Winter
Conquered by Demeter's smile.

Life calls forth like a schooner off the windy shore
Lifetimes, like falling leaves
In the rainbow depths of Karnee River.

Silently, I sit on the banks, by a melting glass vortex
In waters of consciousness, I sail
Between the smoky hills of childhood dreams.
