Are you There

by sadeyes   Aug 9, 2008

I walked away from family and friends
Believing that I did not need them
I hated God for the way my life turned out
So for so long I stopped talking to him
Time went by and I got lost
Nothing could be done no matter what I did
For many years he was the greatest man I knew
And there was such pain when he went away
his life was no more and tears filled my eyes
Who would now be by my side
I ran to the church and yelled to God
Are you there?
Because if you are I want some answers
You had me walk through most of my life alone
The road I thought would never end
You let me find faith only to take it from me again
I stood in silence waiting for a reply
But the silence was deathaing
So I yelled again
Are you There?
Why was this pain casted upon me
What did I do to upset you
Still there was silence
I stood there yelling for awhile longer
but no answer came to me
Finally I was tired and fell to my knees
Softly I asked Are you there
I bowed my head and said I guess not
I got to my feet and turned to go
When A warmth came over my broken heart
Though words I could not hear
This is what I heard
The roads you traveled were your choice
And I am sorry you felt so alone
I am sorry for the pain you feel losing your father
But even at your darkest hour when you cried and there was no end in sight
I stood beside you my child
And held you softly in my hands
I never left your side
But it was you who had to let me in
Before I could answer all your questions

I got shivers...this is so often true for many people who stray away from God, then call yet again for help. Nice work.
Stay real, chin up, and take care.
