Out of sight, out of mind

by Trecie   Aug 12, 2008

Gone but not forgotten
Is how we refer to the dead
But how did it happen
That we forget those who still tread
On barren lands and soil
Rotating shifts, gone for months at a time
Always dedicated, forever loyal
Fighting unseen crime

Far from public thought
Censored media visions can open our eyes
To souls that are bought
In faraway skies

They fight so we may sleep safe at night
That we can freely speak out
Without fear of plight
Or living with nowt

These are guys who are helping others
Rebuild a new world
Despite losing mothers, fathers and brothers
Regain a life that’s been blurred

Out of sight should not be out of mind
