We grow as we heal

by Tracy   Aug 13, 2008

Thinking of you, feeling your pain.
As I sit here going through this once again.
Anniversaries come and holidays go,
But the love and pain we will always know.

A select few of us are chosen to carry this burden,
To love and to lose our beloved children.
Why are we chosen? What's the purpose, I don't understand?
There is no explanation, it's all a part of God's plan.

Healing takes time and we grow as we heal,
And there will always be days when it doesn't seem real.
As you heal you find strength you never knew you possessed.
With every memory and picture we are reminded we were blessed.

To never have known them would be such a shame,
For without them our lives would not have turned out the same.
They were here for a reason, of that I am sure.
And from now until eternity their love remains pure.

The pain will subside, it will lighten with time.
Until then, scream, cry and vent; it's by no means a crime.
As you heal, do it your way, who cares what others think.
Only you know what works, you are your best shrink.
