Reflection in the Mirror

by Searching for Guidance   Aug 17, 2008

Sometimes I think I see myself, then I always look away.
I turn from the shattered glass and say,"another day."
But did she have another day, Melissa so young, so pretty?
Always in my Spanish class, her lovely voice so witty
Sitting at her funeral I knew not what to say.
I saw her mom in front of me, watched her silently pray.
So young, so pure, so full of life
Following her dreams with strife.
But now her voice is silenced, her ballet slippers screech to a halt.
I suppose that it's truly no one's fault.
But for God to take one so young and true
Melissa, he must have a plan for you.
I trust you'll be fine, so I'll buy a new mirror.
And look in the glass, removing the fear.
