The Power

by Tyler Durden   Aug 17, 2008

*I needed a break, some fresh air, and this conversation came about, this evening*

Standing on the street corner,
at a quarter to eleven.
I was suprised to find,
the local scrounger walking towards me.

"Have you got 50p mate?"
thats what he said to me.
and then he recognized me.

"I wont forget that you helped me before"

I always gave when I could,
a spare ciggy here, a few pence there.

I gave him a packet of cigarettes,
and all the change I had, around a fiver.
and he hit me with a revelation.

"Here I was walking home, not a penny on me,
No food all week, not a single cigarette, and I was praying.
And look how He answered, I walked into you, on a good night,
such as this.
Do you believe in the power of prayer, boy?
I was praying, and he made sure I walked into you. believe in prayer, boy!
And what is the name of this miracle?"

It hit me, and I smiled.

"I will never forget you Tyler, nor the deed you do."

Sure enough, he's in that situation for a reason.
but he had the power of prayer on his side,
and that is what I need right now.

"God bless you, Tyler."
I chuckled to myself.

From across the street, he raised his hand to me.

And for the first time, in a long time,
I felt damn good.

Oh my God! That totally made me cry! That makes me so happy! Oh my gosh if you were next to me I'd be squeezing you as tight as I can. That's fantastic news!

    I love you so much!
