Your Everlasting Plan

by Searching for Guidance   Aug 19, 2008

God,
Is this the path you have chosen for me?
Is this who you truly want me to be?
Watchful, reproachful, kind, and sweet
Frantically cleaning, trying to stay neat.
Not neat like a room nor made like a bed
Rather, hanging on each word you've said.
Your words bring happiness, wisdom, and contentment.
Though sometimes they also make me feel resentment.
For your word you made so clear in documents from the past,
But how am I to know they'll last?
I love you truly, I really do
It's just for years I wondered, who?
Who am I to help, who will be the one?
It seems to me you've had your fun.
I mean after all, this MUST be some kind of joke
I swear I will choke
Is there no one else, surely someone is alone.
For he sits on his throne.
Feeling like he's king of his world
When I feel as though I've been hurled
Into a cold, dark hallway.
And here I shall stay
Until I can witness
To he, who is hopeless.
Open the eyes of my heart
Guide me in knowing where to start.
Don't let me get into trouble,
Or just be there on the double.
When I do I now trust in you,
Trust in everything you do.
Hold true to your word
And help me to be heard.
I will follow in all your ways
Even through my darkest days.
Your child,
Martha
