Not good enough?

by Searching for Guidance   Aug 19, 2008

They say a smiles never out of style.
But mine's been gone for quite a while.
Pretty smile, where did you go?
Wasted on another average Joe

Each happy moment sucked out of me.
So now all that I truly see,
Is the moment you said I wasn't good enough.
The time you told me to be tough

That I had more things to change, than you had time to wait for.
As if I were some kind of unfinished chore
Is that all I ever was to you?
Some recycled paper, a thrown out shoe?

Let me tell you something boy
You never brought me any joy.
You sucked in bed.
You had a big head.

You joked about me to our peers,
Waiting for their locker room cheers.
Well I'll be the one left standing in the end,
Holding hands with your best friend.

I hope that you don't miss me then.
Because I'll look back and remember when,
You told me I wasn't good enough
And to be strong and tough

As you walked away from me.
