Melissa
By jasmine cherry

The blood trickles Down her Bony bruised Legs
Her heart beats
Slower and slower
As her Eyes start To close
She mutters Something
To low to Be heard
A tear comes as she Sleeps
The dreams Are her Only source Of happiness
The bliss that She feels
Gives her the
love that can’t be reached any other Way
It wraps around her body
Feeding the abscess that Was once
Called her mind
Her body Aches With pain
In places That should
Be soft and untouched
She is merely
A shadow Of her Mother at the age of
10
A lone
Depressed
And invisible
In a world
That should have
Protected her
From her
So called
father
