Hurricane Katrina <5 senses>

by jasmine cherry   Aug 20, 2008

A trail of devastation is all that is left
no sounds can be heard
the sense of hearing can't be regained
not even with a device of any kind
her vision breaks into pieces
just like pieces to a puzzle
that have been lost under the bed
the smell of death has creeped into her nostrils
and burn its way to her lungs
stopping her breath causing her to choke
her teeth chatter with over whelming enthusiasm
causing her to bite off her tongue
but the pan is numbed
by the throbbing sensation in her hands
or what used to be her hands
since her arms were ripped off
in the chaos
the hurricane that changed the world
has now changed her forever
