A glint of Light

by Bare My Paradox   Aug 23, 2008

They say light needs just a crack to enter
Doesn't her broken soul have enough?

A barricade of teal memories, encompasses, suffocates.
Brutally Slaughtering young aspirations
Oppressing desires striving to rise
Quashing wings of hope- cruel manifestation

Onyx words carved upon Stygian clouds
Words of praise to Lords in elysian fields
A single wish a lonely dream
A glint of light - is all she pleads

Ebon roses wilting 'neath sable skies
Infinitum the ebony of this enigmatic night
Eternal the soundless saunter of the gales
Trapped in darkness this Achluophobic sight

Black glares are the only visitors
The only gazes she's ever felt
Erratic emotions lay senseless
Paralyzed dusk is all that dwelt

Another hour of turbid darkness
Dolorific silence conquering unheard cries
Another day of invisible existence
If only a glint of light

The beauty of nature is a fantasy
The sunrise is a lie
Never heard the ocean whisper its tunes
Never witnessed a twinkle in the sky

Never watched the sunrise paint the ashen sky
Or how strings of light stretch through the clouds
Never heard the matin aria of a lone bird
The pursuit of happiness- lost to long to be found

And while these ears of hers - they cannot hear
The echo of the falling rain,
And while these eyes of hers - they cannot see
The crimson sun as it wanes
And while these lips of hers- they cannot voice
Ariose words of praise, of prayer
This heart of hers- it does feel
Even if you decide not to care
