Nature, Mother

by Herb Jones   Aug 24, 2008

The wind blew...
You caught my attention...
There you were again...
Watching my moves...
The raindrops cause me to reflect...
Reflect on past lives, and mistakes...
Just enough time to lose focus on you...
And focus within...
I look up, and you're gone...
Transcending to whatever place you go...
When you aren't around...
I've come to expect this from you...
You're a creature of habit...
I know that's true...
Sometimes the wind and rain overwhelm me...
It almost brings me to tears...
I love standing in the middle of it...
Just to feel one inch closer to finding peace...
The smell of the atmosphere intoxicates me with dizzying thoughts of flight, passion, and love...
The chorus the wind creates through the trees stops me dead in my tracks...
And allows me to appreciate a larger world...
A world without rules...
A world where freedom is born, not earned...
A world where I am enveloped in you "Mother Nature".

I find that this section where the poems of nature are located is probably the best place to find really good poems. Yours is one of them. I liked the way you used your thoughts and the words you chose. very well done. I liked this very much. If it had been twice as long i still would have read it.
