Unknown Thoughts

by Herb Jones   Aug 24, 2008

When you look into these eyes...
Do you think you see the truth or just a maze full of lies?
I used to think that the truth could always be seen through the eyes of another...
But, that's not true no matter how well you know each other...
I don't cry nor do I attempt to let loose my sorrow...
I bottle it up and put it away so that I can see tomorrow and follow...
My dreams that is, the precious pursuit of happiness
Something each day becomes more evident I'll never have or I'll always miss...
Please give me what you know I need...
You know that hunger is near I fear and you must be here to help me feed...
The question I'll never ask...
Do you love me, I said it too fast...
My love my passion my writing is not for perfection...
But it's for the rare moments that I can find someone who wants to share a connection...
With words I wish to find a common bond...
I need to take it now before it's too late and feeling is long gone...
There's that feeling you know I'm after...
Look past my eyes and into my soul to see the laughter...
The laughter at all those who think they have me figured...
Those who take my feelings for granted and don't even have my real emotions even considered...
I've moved past subtle hints of true hatred...
Now I'm praying this loathing wont continue to spread...
Please give me the feeling that I'm after...
So I can find peace because you gave me the one thing I could never ask for...
Acceptance.
