Passageways

by Four Letter Lie   Aug 26, 2008

My eyes are blinded by a radiant light,
In my hands a cold, round object is placed.
The Light has blinded my eyes,
I have no need for sight anymore.

I walk through endless passageways,
Slowly stepping through what feels like mud.
Maybe soon I shall be able to see,
But I wouldn't count on that.

I listen closely to the bounce back of sounds,
Trying not to stumble into walls.
These corridors are so empty,
I've forgotten how to use my voice.

The smell of death lingers around every corner,
Every step it gets more potent.
Sudden sight gives me a shock,
It isn't mud, its blood.

I start to run,
My voice suddenly floods back.
From behind I fell a hand grab me,
"Time to get up"
