Mummy Where Is Daddy

Mummy wehre is Daddy
you said he would
come back home.

But it was been
two months
and he still
is not home.

Mummy why are you crying
please do not be upset
I did not mean to upset you
I'm just hurt and curious.

Mummy where are we going
and why does every one
look oh so sad.

Why are they all in black
with teared filled eyes
Mummy it looks as if
some one has died.

Mummy it is Daddy
but he is oh so still
laying there so pale
in his uniform.

Mummy why did you not tell me
I would have tried to understand
that Daddy died for our country
while trying to save a man.

Mummy I will hold your hand
as they fire twenty- one shots
as they lay Daddy down
into the world he loved.

Mummy please do not worry
fore Daddy is still here
he will always be with us
and will always be in our hearts
as he watches down from above.
