White Lights ; Black Nights

by AlyssaaEstabrookss   Sep 2, 2008

Everytime you leave my side,
everything turns black,
like the night outside,
i stand there wishing you were back.

as i silently drive home,
i can still hear your voice.
the white lights of cars,
shine without choice.

as brilliant as your eyes,
these white lights are,
as the shine brightly,
from each and every car.

the darkness creeps closer,
the longer we're apart,
i can't take these black nights,
they're ripping up my heart.

maybe if you drove me home,
even walked me to my door,
i'd sleep safe that night,
better than the one before.

sometimes i dream you're not there,
and i wake up with tears in my eyes.
you always promised to never leave me,
i never thought you'd say goodbye.

now i do stand here alone,
in all of these black nights.
i wish i'd drive home thinking of you,
and once more see those white lights.
