Verisimilitude

by Viola   Sep 4, 2008

You say you're different now-
Different and the same
Stop blaming everyone else love
We are all faking the game
Hypocrisy has settled everywhere
Look around the room at all the painted faces-
The president and the queen, your next door neighbor, your best friend
All hiding behind carved smiles
Feeling the need to adjust, to conceal
Everyone take your poses
Please the crowd with colorful sensations
No one likes to see a sad face
So don't disappoint them

Despite all the delitescent feelings we make up
I still believe
Everyone's waiting for someone
To break in
So come around, and sit down for a while
Let's pretend that we can still pretend- no more.

**Versimilitude-
1. The quality of appearing to be true or real.
2. The appearance or semblance of truth.
