Long Gone

by Melanie   Sep 5, 2008

Lying in between your legs
sighseeing our pasts.
Nestling my feet deep
into the rough sand.
And as sounds begin to fade away, so does our happiness.

The trail in the cliffs
haunt my longing for
just one more day with you.
The fence along the edge
keeps us from falling over.
The waves go crashing and
the fog begins to settle in.

The oceans lluluby's betray
my eyes and my eyelids
soon begin to droop.
The smell of tan sand and seaweed
mixed together
become my frangrace of joy.

The bench where we sat
is now marked by others.
Overlooking right past that
house sitting on the dge.
There it sits looking
down beyond us.

As the sun begins to set
I let myself be.
I rest my head on your
chest and feel
the pounds of bliss.

As I say goodbye,
I can only wish for
just one more day.
