Voyage To the Sun

by Soulful Ensemble   Sep 6, 2008

You went to where the flowers bloom
I'm hoping you'll be there soon.
Waiting for you there
Has got me flying through the air.

Meanwhile, I wait with open eyes
Seeing all things so strange.
To every image I'll say goodbye
Until my love's arranged.

I see an ambulance so fast
Running through the grass.
Hitting people it drives past
Shattering all glass.

And the broken pieces cut
And tear at every sole.
With their rapid strut they walk
Making anxiety a goal.

I thought I saw you in the distance
It must've been hallucination.
A tulip in space with much persistance
Gliding from station to station.

The grim reaper's on patrol
Watching closely from the sun.
Earthly souls feel in control
But their power's been undone.

The soldiers load their guns,
The skeletons get up for fun.
My love's mind has somewhere run
She's on her voyage to the sun.

And love is always there
Even when we close our eyes.
The flowers in her hair
Only need the sun to shine.

Look into space and know everyone--
All souls have turned to one.
Something, somewhere has begun
We will not be outdone.

My love I'll see you there
When you get to the sun.
I'm shinning everywhere
Showing you that we have won;
And the headless praying mantis is gone.
