Little Flower

by Soulful Ensemble   May 9, 2022

Lips like red roses
Melt my soul to ashes,
Hips that curve like pedals
Bounce like rain splashes.

In your eyes are bright stars
Looking through my spirit,
Speaking words that silence scars
turning hours to minutes.

Your kiss — a new dawn
Giving birth to worlds uncovered
Unleashed, like ghosts long gone
But in your eyes recovered.

In your gaze - a love that’s true
Breaking down my blues,
Cutting sadness through;
Singing old songs that sound so new.

Little flower - may I be your sunshine?
The same way that you are mine?
Will you love me as I love you
And make me feel sublime?

When you leave, I’m left bereft of light
Like the sun is gone away.
Please come back - end my fright
And kiss me every day.

Little flower - don’t you know
My love is here to stay?
I cry sadness, everlasting
To the thought that you will go someday.

If I ask you if you love me -
Please, dear God, don’t say no.
Little flower - you must know
I can’t live a life that low.

In your lips I die sweetly
To the vanishing of time.
Love me now, completely
And always be mine.
