Statue

You're a beautiful piece of art-
A Michaelangelo,
A sight that breaks the heart,
But I know inside you're cold.

A dark abyss in your eyes,
A coldness in your smile,
A sudden warmth that just dies,
A laugh bitter as bile.

It's like you can never feel,
Anything of tenderness,
It's as though you are not real,
Just a stunning, lovely mess.

Your name's up in the stars,
So that everyone can see,
But as beautiful as you are,
You're just a statue to me.
