The Darkest Reel and Our Native Tongue

by RussianRendezvous   Sep 11, 2008

It's funny how we took our time until we had none left,
And still the first five minutes was just one protracted breath.
I took you off of my to-do list long ago,
But I haven't been too busy lately and the weather is gone.
Your eyes became flares that you shot up with your smile.
Over all the sound I heard your body screaming.
Did you feel my reply?

In this moment, nothing else matters,
Because this room is dark,
And we finally feel safe from each other.
The world doesn't get it and neither do we,
But right now it's okay to forget everything we've ever said.
Because it's all nothing compared to what I'm saying to you now.
Don't worry about a thing, I'm letting you in.
I miss you,
I want you,
I love you.
This room is dark,
And nothing else matters but that we're in it together.

"I haven't seen you in so long."
"God, I know."
"Is it weird?"
"kind of..."
