Just so you know

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Sep 14, 2008

Let the dark hover over me.
And the clouds cover the sun.
Let it all hit me instead of you.
Because compared to you, there is none.

Let the pain you're about to feel.
Ache me instead of you.
I'll develop a heart of steel.
And endure the infliction through and through.

No matter how life gets hard.
Knowing you're fine is the winning card.
You being happy, healthy and safe.
Is the wish that i crave.

I have become immune to the pain.
It already runs in my veins.
For your freedom i'd forbid mine.
And will lock myself up in chains.

Just so you know.
I'd welcome the blows.
You are my true best friend.
The rest are all foes.

No matter how life gets hard.
Knowing you're fine is the winning card.
You being happy, healthy and safe.
Is the wish that i crave.

This is a really sweet poem & shows the lengths you'd go through never to hurt this person. 5/5, Em
