Mysterious Restlessness

by Zach Buenger   Sep 14, 2008

Restless as the morning's sun,
My heart flutters so rapidly
Only one's gentle touch
can put my soul to rest.

Wanting to think of something else,
and yet she stays on my mind
like footprints to the ocean's sand.

Forget I say, Forget!
And yet, I can do anything but that.

Is it the mystery that intrigues me,
or just the feeling of rejection.
I stare in the mirror hoping for secrets revealed,
but all I see is a lost man's reflection.

My nerves are shot,
My head is scrambled like this mornings eggs
And my hope is lying in a gutter somewhere unknown

Is all hope lost,
Or is this sense of restless going to pass
These are some of the questions that go through my wandering mind

Sadly, I'm forced to sit and wonder
And let Fate take its course.
