How's Cody Doing?

by Brandi   Sep 15, 2008

Take it in and let it out

The motionless vehicles surround me, as I drive

Each passing minute seems to wait for me to catch up.

With each uncertain thought crossing my mind

The aggressive waves rush towards the sand

To erase the words that will be

Left unsaid

All the unfamiliar faces joining together

To have it be what it must.

The melodic sounds of the breeze hitting the water

Makes people listen to what they want to hear.

A getaway from that black-and-white photo

Surreal to think the most

With the clear blue sky…

Perfection

Makes you wish for rain.

Left side with poised houses

In a still frame for us to embrace

Right side with untouched sand

To show you where you stand

Ocean

The place where fact meets fiction

Fulfillment meets desire

The place where nothing stands still
But never seems to change its meaning.

I love the symbolism in this poem. I can't believe it hasn't been commented on. The title threw me off, but it was a great poem.
