Unforgotten

by Anne Garcia   Sep 15, 2008

Is it possible for a heart to break,
over and over again?
To just smile for your own sake,
but then breakdown in the end?

Trying to get over the lies,
and promises and the pain.
Deep down inside, she cries and cries,
Doubting; regretting; going insane.

When they first met,
You would never know.
Deep inside, she knew, he bled
his feelings and emotions he would neer show.

Always quiet and serene
You could never tell
How loving and caring he may seem
Then get drunk, get out of control and yell

Never judge a book by its cover,
Actually never judge at all.
You'll lose yourself forever,
you'll stumble and you'll fall

Eventually, you'll get up again
Regain that power and control
You'll smile, you'll laugh, and then,
Not knowing, your heart he stole

Just let love come easily
don't rush into it at all
If you do that, you'll see
We'll catch you during mid-fall

In life we need to experience,
To fall, crash and suffer
It will give us wisdom and that sense
We'll be happy, with true guidance forever

*** Again, dedicated to that same man. What we had wasn't love, I was willing to be with him no matter what he was. But he only wanted ONE thing. That's all.
