Take a Walk With Me

by Katie Clukey   Sep 19, 2008

Stop.
Look up.
Birds chirping, trees swaying.
People laughing, people singing.
Walk around the corner.
Men selling drugs.
Women selling themselves.
Children with no sense of direction.
Walk down the street.
People being shot.
Children with guns.
Men & women being arrested.
Walk through the city.
Women being raped.
Women being beaten.
People dying of STD's & diseases.
Walk into a restaurant.
Sit down.
Puzzled at what I've witnessed.
A woman stops, looks at me, & says "My dear, it doesn't end here. The world doesn't stop just for you".
She's right.
We will forever live in despair.
