Gray vs. Green

by Emily   Sep 20, 2008

I wish I understood
the need for more.
Why does the rich,
assume that they're poor?
Why has the sea
a mistaken hue?
Why is it green,
and often called blue?
How come this ground,
that you call insufficient,
is impeded by home?
A greed self-inflicted.
Why request tile,
when you have fertile soil?
Work toward your home
you're spent yet you're spoiled.
Save bits of sunshine
The walls keep you warm,
you're embracing your boundaries
Your mind has been harmed.
Harvest your bland,
Front porches beat beaches.
But I'll grow my nectars,
the flowers beat leeches.

____
Go Green.
