Never see me cry

I was always so strong
when you were around
you swept me up in your arms
and spun me around
i always ran home from school
just to see your face
to tell you about my day
i was always so safe

it started with a cough
you always said you were fine
i thought it was a cold
and it would pass in time
it got worse
and you got so sick
i lost my faith
thought that god was playing a trick

you were always mine
i never thought you would fall
and your baby blue eyes
were my only downfall
you told me you loved me
in the face of death
and touched my face
as you took your last breath

i could of swore i saw
your soul touch the sky
and i turn away because you
will never see me cry
