Sickness

by Orchid Man   Sep 27, 2008

Flower, you are not well and I am sitting here worrying about you
Nothing feels or looks the same, not your laughter, your smiles, the weather - nothing!
When you told me how ill you were feeling my heart simply sank -
- my orchid, I wanted to hold you in my arms to show you how much you mean to me.

Yet I couldn't, as you had told me how badly you ached, so I couldn't hold you close to me
Silly as it may seem to anyone I must walk to our forest and furry friends to explain -
- but you and I know our communication with nature will be heard and understood
Then I must visit our wishing well; say my prayer to you, then come straight home.

Through the years you have borne your private times of illness and things have been difficult
But through these times you have continued to smile and share your life with me
And this is what our happiness is about, sharing the uncertainties of life together -
- complete with unselfishness; being there for each other; our hearts remaining full of love.

My flower, you have no equal and my mind is completely focussed on your return to health
Though you continually toss and turn whilst trying to sleep I shall be sitting lovingly at your side
Our hands will remain locked in their embrace and I will watch over my precious orchid
Were you awake right now you would tell me to stop panicking, but this panic comes from loving you.

Even in your turbid sleep you look so beautiful then I whisper, "I love you" and stifle a tear
I wonder if you are dreaming about happy times because soon there will be many more of them
My orchid; we are a partnership made to withstand these alarming
times -
- and we will remain together in this partnership (then I gently grip your hand tighter).

Sweetheart, please get better soon
