Frozen

by Kira   Sep 30, 2008

Frosty flakes fall from the

Bleak, dark sky.

Frostbitten fingers fumble

With every move.

Her hurried breaths

Come in short gasps-

Puffs of heat,

As she tries to hold herself together.

She has all but forgotten

What warmth is like.

She longs for the

Slow thawing of her

Frozen hands,

Numb face,

Aching heart.

But she chose this

Wintry prison,

Foolishly giving up

Her source of warmth,

Her forsaken love.
