The Wave

by Kira   Sep 30, 2008

I stand, defiantly.

Trembling, heart racing,

But I hold my ground.

Waves roll past

Drenching my legs,

But these are nothing.

My focus is on the great

Green wall of water

Slowly rising in front ofme,

Gathering height,

Overshadowing my stubborn stance.

I brace myself as the wake

Begins t cap,

My feet firmly planted this time.

...I gasp as the wall slams into me.

Lungs fill with salt as I try to surface.

My head hits ocean floor.

I tumble head over heels and

Land flat on my back in the sand.

I sit, head spinning,

Beaten once again.
