I saw her tie your tie...

by Brittany   Jun 6, 2004

I sat in the lounge room waiting,
three hours had slowly past.
Then I saw the lights,
as you pulled into the driveway so fast.

You stormed in through the door,
threw your bags down and your files.
"Baby its so good to see you,"
"God I missed your smile."

You threw your arms around me,
and said you were sick of being alone.
But the lipstick left on your collar,
proved you hadn't been on your own.

I wanted to believe you,
and I asked you to explain.
The lies you kept on telling,
has now left me in so much pain.

I believed every word you said,
until I saw it with my own eyes.
You said you were away for work,
then I saw her tie your tie.

I followed you both to dinner,
and waited until you were about to leave.
I walked up to your table,
and gave you back your house key.

I smile at you and wished you well,
I didn't call you one single name.
I looked at you in pity,
and saw a boy that was so lame.

Sometimes I think about you,
and not a bad word comes to mind.
I guess you were just looking,
for something you couldn't find.

I hope that you think of me,
and I hope you feel so much pain.
When you think of all the love we shared,
and how you'll never have me again.
