Within A Spark

by Unrequited   Oct 1, 2008

Voices burn on mountains,
will they ever quiet down?
possessed in echoes,
built upon a prayer
left on noisy air-
mischief fingers place
violated songs upon our tongues,
and we never questioned why!
damaged force drives our hearts
down inside the pouring river,
running through words in flames
from on high...
within a spark,
the silver lining's lost
in buzzing cries.

ears are melted, groaning
with despair as they drip
into the madness of faded souls.
rain speaks in graveyards,
taunting love in poisoned echoes,
ripped by prisoned screams
which haunt our raptured air:
a time for secrets to drop
and dissolve
from the clouds.
dirty rain upon us,
discolored and ashamed
by the heavens on the hill.

they're burning in masses,
torched in good graces
never ceasing never calm,
echoed laughs from mountains

towered high
in restless sky
showered songs
from on the mound-
fading questions
never asking why
and darkened answers
buried in the ground.

air is heavy
carrying us all
in its light,
busted clouds open
ears
to hear them
burn us all...

burning in masses,
secrets drop and dissolve
these voices surround us
and so we lose it all.

Another fantastic write from you, friend. The vibe of this is really different .. melancholy and melodic. The first sentence: HELLO. (: Love the rhythm that this reads in .. I really liked how towards the end in tapered down, getting smaller and smaller ...

I'm gonna read it again (:
    Keep it coming, please.
