Breathtaking in Blue

by Trisha   Oct 2, 2008

When I was young I really never thought
That I could love another girl this way
Everything I want, everything I ever wanted
And things I'd never even known I wanted
Standing in front of me, a pretty little vision in blue
Breathtaking in a way that made me suffocate
Even before, when we first met, back then
If I was close enough to feel your warmth
It became physically hard to breathe
It was almost as though I'd forgotten how
But when you were around it was normal
I could hardly think of anything else
The lightheaded rush when I'd stumble for air
The flush of my cheeks when you noticed
The pain that knocked the wind out of me
Sobs that choked off my breathing
As I felt you pulling away from me
And seeing those crystal blue eyes
Turning in a direction far from mine
Undiluted heartache only true love knows
You never stopped taking my breath away
Yesterday, tomorrow, especially today
Breathtaking in a way that makes me suffocate
Standing in front of me, my pretty little vision in blue
