Those Eyes Alone

by Trisha   Oct 2, 2008

Your eyes are such a startling blue
The kind of eyes you don't forget
Imprinted on my memory like permanent ink
Crystalline, like a cold clear winter day
Liquid and glistening like the purest arctic ice
Though they radiate only warmth to me
The wide, deep intensity of them
And the honesty that I got so lost in
Everything I saw in them put me at ease
Soothing like the rain I felt on my face
Blue like the heart shaped diamond
That I had chosen for your wedding ring
Framed with the prettiest face I've ever seen
I can see the sunset in them, fire against ice
And it feels like my passion for you
Those eyes alone, they broke my heart
When you turned them away from me
