Pain On Pages

by Unrequited   Oct 2, 2008

It's haunted lifeblood,
trapped inside a drafty story
Cold in whispers and
scratched-up words
painted round
and round
upon thick pages
of a mystery's heart

Sickened by the eyes
They're raised and alert by
an unseen force
imprinting dread on
hollow faces
Knowing who to fear
is darkened all its own

Sacrifice these final minutes
The story at its end, and
calling out in rage,
Your name,
and piercing time-line borders
For fortune leeches onto lives
No matter put in thoughts
with hollered laughs caught on airs,
fixated by their eyes
feeding on our story

Fiction or not
this pain on pages, we are real
Word for word
Line for line
Breathing in this theme
collapses words we once believed
The morality, now reality
screaming out
from underneath this tale
When tears are crawling
divided rain on papered ground

Time is ending
Thoughts turned off
Motion in words, stopped
in breaking clouds
drooping in denial
Scratched words
now left alone
Round and round,
will love be found?

Pages empty
erased by eyes
in haunted dreams of
a mystery's heart
